Drop into the Spa for a pampering treatment or refreshing workout. Take in a few pool games or a little afternoon silliness like Bingo. Just make sure you’re ready for one of our legendary T-Dances!
Bordeaux (Le Verdon), France
The gateway to the world’s most prestigious wine region is a coastal city in Southwest France, right on the Bay of Biscay. Spend the day exploring the region’s many chateaus with extensive in-depth tours. The area boasts some of the finest bordeaux, cabernet sauvignon and merlot in the world. You can also explore Le Verdon’s historic Old Port which hosts a night market every Tuesday at 18:30 where you can discover the local artisans and browse the stalls filled with delicious food.
The heart of Spain’s Basque region welcomes all with a love of food, wine, and laughter. Take a stroll down the new, ultra-modern Zubizuri Bridge to the cultural center of Euskalduna Palace. Venture out on a “poteo” – a small glass of wine here and there with typical “pintxos” or tapas – and experience the delicious character of the locals up close. A visit to Bilbao's spectacular Guggenheim Museum is also a must for those with an appetite for the amazing.
And for a real adventure, head over to nearby San Sebastian for one of the most stunning beaches in Spain, along with some of the most progressive and inventive food in the world.
La Coruña, Spain
Galicia’s coastal richness is in full display in La Coruña, with two gorgeous beaches in the heart of the city. Surfing and seafood are the focus here, beyond the stunning coastline into the city’s many marketplaces and inviting cafes. The Roman Tower of Hercules, in continuous operation since the 2nd century AD, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, surrounded by a large park.
Sophisticated and electric, the crown jewel of Portugal is one of the most captivating cities in Europe. You'll see why this city reigns above all others as you stroll along elaborate mosaic sidewalks and pass by the Monument to the Discoveries. A quick trolley ride transports you to the cobblestone district of Baixa. We're there a full day and night, allowing you to take in the extravagant nightlife and gay culture in Bairro Alto and Principe Real. Dine, dance, and indulge in any way you choose!
Journey into the Seven Hills district to experience castles and cathedrals. Wherever you turn, the streets are lined with colorful ceramic and antique shops, street artisans and aromatic cafes. Or if you choose, be lured off and pampered in the resort cities of Cascais and Estoril.
There are probably no more famous streets in the world than those in the capital city of Andalusia. Breathtakingly beautiful Seville is the 4th largest city in Spain, founded as a Roman town and now features a unique mix of Roman and Moorish architecture, alongside remarkable modern buildings. Visit the lavish St. Mary of the See Cathedral, one of the largest medieval and Gothic buildings in the world, or the sweeping grounds of Plaza de España. Just don’t miss a chance to indulge in the city’s unique tapas scene.
And if you don’t want to take the hour trek to Seville, Cádiz is an outstanding introduction to Andalusia. The charming old quarter in Cádiz makes it easy to see why this small seaside town is frequented by Spaniards on holiday.
The capital of Spain’s Costa del Sol welcomes over 6 million tourists each year to Malaga’s powder-white beaches, Picasso Museum, and inviting old town. Walk up the hill to city’s 2 massive hilltop citadels, the Alcazaba and ruined Gibralfaro, remnants of Moorish rule. Or head over to nearby Marbella, one of the most beautiful and inviting port cities in the Med.
One of the most vibrant cities in Spain, and the country’s third largest, has become one of the great tourism capitals of the country. From the ancient landmarks in the medieval city like the Serrans and Quart Towers, to the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, there’s no better place to see how old and new Spain come together seamlessly. Valencia also boasts several beaches, including some within nearby Albufera Park, a wetlands reserve with a lake and walking trails.
Finally, we arrive in the gay capital of Spain and one of the most important cultural and economic centers in Spain, and indeed Europe. Since its founding, Barcelona has always been a center of art and design, culminating with Gaudi's masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia Basilica, a prime example of Art Nouveau architecture, with its bold color, beautiful tilework and swirling lines. Spend a day wandering through the old Gothic quarter or take a 30-minute trip to Sitges, the famed gay Spanish beach resort.
Atlantis will offer post-cruise packages in Barcelona that include transfers and in-depth tours of this vibrant and thrilling city.
Disembarkation begins at approximately 8am on July 22nd. Atlantis does not recommend flights before noon.
What better place to start a gay cruise than Amsterdam, Europe’s
most gay-friendly city, where charming canals meet a dynamic and passionate scene.
After a relaxing day at sea, explore the legendary vineyards of Bordeaux, or simply
explore the marvels of one of France’s most recent transformations. Bilbao’s
stunningly modern museum sets the tone for the gateway to the magical
countryside of Spain’s Basque region. Indulge in the culinary and visual
wonders of Galicia, as La Coruna’s awe-inspiring cliffs, windswept pristine beaches,
and glorious seafood tempt you at every turn.
Our dramatic arrival into Lisbon will put you in the mood to enjoy the wonders and fascinating nightlife of this unique coastal city. With a full day and night to explore you’ll truly have time to enjoy one of Europe’s most progressive and constantly changing cities. Just save some energy for historic Seville where ancient streets are lined with treasures beyond your imagination.
No visit to Spain would be complete without exploring the beachside city of Malaga, with a magnificent coastline and laid-back attitude. It’s the perfect base to explore the wonders of Spain’s rich south, including the medieval city of Granada and more.
Finally, the ultra-modern Calatrava structures that dot Valencia bring you face-to-face with the future of Spain in one of the world’s most beautiful coastal cities. That is, until we arrive in glorious Barcelona!
